He previously served as political director for the New York State Democratic Party, where he helped elect numerous local officials, including the mayors of Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse and Albany in 2005. He was instrumental in coordinating the 2006 New York State Democratic Committee’s Convention and the state party’s support of campaigns for statewide offices, including the re-election of New York’s junior US Senator. In 1990, he moved to Albany, New York, to accept a position as a public information officer with the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles. He worked in the Information Services Unit of the New York State Senate Democratic Conference coordinating statewide messaging and served in the Albany County Executive’s Office.

He worked for Albany Mayor Gerald Jennings, consolidating and modernizing the Departments of Youth and Recreation Services into a single, full service agency and was promoted to deputy director of the Albany Community Development Agency. He created and directed the Albany HomeStore, a comprehensive resource for prospective home owners. He partnered with banks, mortgage companies and credit counselors to create ADAP (Albany Down Payment Assistance Program) to offer low and no interest down payment assistance to help fulfill the dream of home ownership for residents in the City of Albany.

Mr. Nemeth was born in Buffalo. He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Canisius College and is a loyal fan of the Buffalo Bills. He is married to Nancy Nemeth and has two children, Victoria and Donald. They reside in Guilderland, New York.
